That is said of the body bolt for the battery ground strap, too. That may have been good advice during the first 5 or 10 years, assuming no damage to the cables but, after all these years, properly cleaning all ground points requires it. I have removed and cleaned both and even replaced the transmission ground strap with noted improvement. Use of dielectric grease would be a good idea during reassembly.
