My son has run a window tint shop for many years. He is often asked what cleaners to use on the tint after install. Most people ask first aobut using a standard window cleaner, and of course he warns them off especially if they have ammonia. The ammonia strips the the oils, as do some other agents in cleaners. His recommendation has always been to use just plain water with a little bit of Johnsons baby shampoo in the water. He has never had a failure of the tint when that instruction has been adhered to. It may well be that this is the best approach for cleaning any vinyl surface. Better even than soaps, as soaps tend to have at least a little bit of lye in them, which cuts oils significantly. The baby shampoo may be the best solution for the problem.
