I found a comb, a bottle of PS oil, and a checkered flag stored up in the top bunk...

In my first van, a very nice 71 Dodge that inspired me to get a vanagon; It was full of camping stuff! Much of it from the early 70's. Coleman stove, special plug for campground elec. outlet, port-a-potie, elec fridge, blanket, flashlights ETC. Seller was an old guy in poor health and he wanted the stuff to go on with his camper van. When I bought it he was in the hospital. His wife told me they had gotten a Winnebago for camping 10 years earlier and becides, he couldn't drive the van anymore--it was a stick. Told me how the Winnie was great but the most enjoyable, memorable trips were taken in the 71 van. 2 weeks later after I had gone through the van I found an old service station map of the U.S. under a seat. The PO was out of the hospital and home, he called me to pick up some maintenance parts he had found. I brought the map because it had routes drawn on it and some trip notes. The guy opened the map, it was emotional, he had forgotten about the map and seeing his cross country routes drawn with red pen 20 years earlier brought back good memories to this guy. We still use some of that old camping gear in our MultiVan. Chris C 90mv
