Yup. The only differences are 1) reverse ring gear hub (mates with thepinion shaft of the final drive) is different, but this is easily swapped for a vanagon one; 2) the Audi version isn't tapped for the coolant/ATF heat exchanger. I'm not certain what's involved in drilling/tapping that, but the guy at German Transaxle I got my rebuilt from said they occasionally run out of Vanagon auto trannies and just grab a batch of rebuilt Audi ones off the shelf and convert them, so it probably doesn't require full disassembly.
