i installed a pass side swival base on my 84 sunroof. i cut the front of the compartment w/ a metal diecutter so i can store stuff under there.. left a little lip at the bottom to keep stuff from sliding out when i jam on the brakes. covered the rough cut edge w/ the B pillar "U" shaped weatherstripping. i keep my atlas under there now. had to trim the stock battery cover a little. cover your carpet w/ a old blanket while cutting, otherwise sparks will melt carpet and metal shavings will rust orange spots all over everything when it gets wet/damp/humid if you dont thoroughly vacuum them out ..
