Subject: Identifying Bilsteins
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

After reading the various shock postings recently, I'm curious to know which type of Bilsteins I have on my (non-Westy) van, as I'm not a hundred percent thrilled with the ride.

Can I just crawl underneath and see what I need to see -- a serial/model/parts number? Or will I need to get it on a lift and/or pull the wheels or other parts? And when I do look, what exactly am I looking for and where on the shock will I see it? I've checked the Bilstein web site and have what I presume are the part numbers for two types of shocks that fit the Vanagon.
