Some of the older ones use the the old air cooled upright VW
engine(not sure which model) and they had an industrial cam in them
designed for the motor to run at 2000 RPM or thereabouts. The
Zamboni that they used at the rink in Little Rock had one in it and I
remember my old friend Bob Myers talking about having to fix it
once. IIRC, the flywheel seal was giving out and leaking oil on the ice.
BTW, I like most of of the Winter events, but really dig the bobsled
/luge/etc and the XC skiing. After making a vain attempt to finish
the Birkebeiner XC race last year, I can relate to the work it takes
to finish those long-ass ski races!! We need more Curling coverage
on prime time and oh yes, Dick Button needs to retire!!
