You can use any VW 1.6 D motor. Just swap the oil pan, oil pump, valve cover, flywheel & pilot bearing, and accessories over. You will also have to either modify the throttle cable or use the vanagon arm on the pump (or complete pump). 1.6D engines are readily available in Montreal area for $200 or less. Better yet: Find yourself a 1.9TD from a Mk3. Swap is similar, but the turbo won't clear the engine mount. Either make your own mount, or souce a pair of Quantum turbo-diesel manifolds. Decklid won't clear the top of the turbo injection pump either. Mod the lid or make a new raise cover. Jay Guelph, Ontario
