Subject: Rear Heater "T" fitting compatibility
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Does anyone know if the late model Vanagon plastic T fitting that taps into the heater hose to feed the rear heater core will work on an early '84 Westy? The part number for the '84 is 353-265-593A. The late model number for the same part is 353-265-593B. I can not seem to find any source of the "A" part but Van-Café sell the "B" part and says on their web site that it fits '84. I've looked on ETKA and the spring clips to attach the hoses to the T fitting are different between an '84 and late models which leads me to believe they are different diameter hoses. However if the hoses are the same diameter I think that the late model T fitting should work. My '84 is an early model with metal coolant pipes running up to the front and the existing T fittings are both made of "very rusty" metal. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these rusty metal T's !

BTW the Bus Depot lists T fitting that I need but I've tried to order it twice in the past two years and it is always omitted from my order.

Thanks

Pascal '84 Westy
