Nerve gas or not - perhaps I'm wrong- it has been a long time ago since i worked with these things - Note this --Quote from the government site "Among the chemicals used in the war(WW-I), phosgene was responsible for the large majority of deaths." That is pretty deadly so far as I'm concerned. And if I'm the one that's dead, then by golly it is deadly!!

None the less, it is best to have pinpont accurate information, then you can take steps to protect your self.

BTW, there is a nerve gas that DOES require the Atrapine to counter, but right now for the life of me I cannot remember it's name.

One more thing, many benign plastics that we use every day are polyvinyl chloride based, and when these puppies burn they give off what?- you guessed it - phosgene gas. Burning plastics is NOT a good idea. Send them out for recycling in a proper recycling center.

This whole business raises the issue of Firefighters and their firefighting environment. In a burn situation, whether a building or other, they always have to be cognizant of the toxic chemicals released into the air by the burn. Many are deadly as well as toxic, and the firemen work right in that stuff. My hat is off to them. They deserve all the Kudo's we can give them.

John Rodgers 88 GL Driver
