When we do a TDI conversion, we prefer to put in the 4.14 R&P. This give a much better ration throughout all the gears for the TDI powerband. No need to replace 3rd or 4th unless your looking for an extreme freeway cruiser.

But, don't forget the need to change other ratios, the step up to a .77 and especially a .70 necessitates raising the second gear ratio as well.
