I'm with you. The problem is as clear as day, the dash ground wire has a high resistance between itself and true ground. As I have said here many times, all most everything in the dash connects to a single ground wire at the star/crown ground ring. Find that one wire, clean the end or crimp on a new .250 female spade connector. That is all that is needed. It has nothing to do with the headlight switch. Adding air to the tires is easy as well but won't help the dash light problem either.
