Ja, don't worry. VW can't say anything. Even if they did have a US design
patent on the specific shape of the postal wheel arches (which is doubtful
as they didn't use them in the US), the maximum term for such a patent is 14
years-- which means NOTHING about the production T3 could even possibly be
encumbered. The only things they can claim as "intelectual property" are
their trademarks. So long as it doesn't say "VW" or have the stylized
circled-VW  on it,  they won't even make a peep.
