Hi all,

This is my first post I hope it works.

Here's my Question.

I recently purchased a 1988 Westy, while driving down the road the radio started to smoke and the smell of melted plastic filled the cabin. I tried to think about what I may have done to cause it, the only thing I can think of is that I switched it to the AM station right before this occurred (I had been traveling a good hour with no problems), I stopped the car because at that point I did not know where the smoke was from, once I determined it was from the radio, I switched it off and tried turning it back on, it did not work in AM mode but did in FM. Just to be on the safe side I took out the fuse and continued the trip without the radio. Does any one have experience with this? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

UB
