Volks, Since I purchased my '85 every time I turned on the rear heater out came heat but also a sickening sweet smell. I never noticed a coolant leak but replacing the core was on my list of things to do. Last night I got around to it, very easy process. I thought that I would report that some times that sweet syrup smell really is syrup. Did I mention my van is a Westy. I don't know how it spilled in there but after wiping out the inside of the housing the smell is gone. Stephen DeMocko ('85 Westy Luci) |
