John Wessels has confirmed the reservations at the Hollister Hills State 4WD Recreation area, Hollister, CA The date for this wonderful event is set for May 4-7, actually occuring on the true "Cinqo de Mayo" date this year. Set asid the date and make your plans to attend the best Vanagon event in North America. A website and online registration is not yet ready for prime time...but hopefully will be soon.....but make your own plans starting NOW ! Although Syncro de Mayo founder and grand master,Steve Schwenk has moved to the east coast, the event has been passed into the capable hands of John Wessels and Tom and Adam Lengyl as the the co-chairmen. We're getting a late start, so hope that all the great volunteer support that helped Steve in prior years make this wonderful event so successful will step up again with their generous support. This year, even more volunteer help will be needed for planning, supporting, and sponsoring the event, due to Steve's absence. (Hopefully Steve will give us some guidance from afar). Past volunteers, and sponsors, please email me, (as a communications volunteer) with your offers and suggestions. Please include a note as to what area you worked on in the past, if any. New ideas for the event are welcome. Look forward to seeing you all there.
