I am begging to believe from the response that
this '82 Vanagon is a former Diesel that someone
updated .
I have never seen someone go as far as change the
lower control arms, but someone went to a lot of
work on this one .
The VIN was not replaced- there is a Non-Cataylst
sticker on the door jamb just like on my 82
Diesel, and I noticed the third bolt hole for the
rear side carrier tube brackets.
The sad thing about this Westfalia is that it
wasn't wrecked, and someone used a sawzall to get
the fridge, water tank- just chopped up the
kitchen in pieces.
They went to a lot of work converting it to a
WBX, which I have not seen before.
