I am replacing the original equipment Heidelburg IV in my '85, and was looking for advice on what to use. This is my daily driver, and has not had much extra soundproofing added, so the requirements I have are pretty basic. I went to Crutchfield, and got the Pioneer DEH-2800 as "will fit" advice from their car matching software. Is there any other problems with this kind of thing that I DON'T see there? I remember hearing good things about Crutchfield from other listers before, so that is why I started there. Oh, and I plan on doing the install myself. I trust NO ONE from a stereo installer place, since they are by definition in it to make money, which usually means a fast and dirty job. Not what I want, at all. And before you start with all that hollering, I know there are good installers out there. I just haven't found one that meets my standards.
