Turns out this is actually a 7 passenger GL. Joel put a genuine "Transporter" emblem on the rear hatch just to have a little fun. Dunno where he got it though. Such emblems are hard to come by I expect. How many vans??? Actually this is the third one I have owned, but this is the first time I have ever owned two simultaneously. I was actually sort of looking for an auto tranny model but I couldn't pass this one by. What put me into the mode of getting a second one was a lot of down time and aggravation on my daily driver last year. With two, at least one should be operational at all times. Yeah, I know, now I have twice the possibilities of breaking down. Well, I'll live with that. Actually, I need a daily driver, but I also need a truck. My Burgandy 88 GL will become the truck and the Volksiebus will be the daily driver. Somewhee out there is an auto tranny Westy with my name on it. That would complete my fleet.
