If stopping and steering is as important as going, then you really need winter tires on all 4 corners. My guess is that you are considering passenger car tires. If so, make sure they are rated to 44 psi. A 215/70 would be a better choice for capacity. Both the 205/75 and 215/70 are slightly taller than the 205/70 tires. If using larger tires in the rear than the front, have the front end realigned and the caster adjusted with the larger tires installed to keep the steering feeling proper.
