> > > > On this week for $74.99 Canadian, Hi folks, I hate phrases like "think outside the box" but in this case I think it applies.... That is a really great price for a quality inverter. There is no law that requires you to use the entire 1000Watt capability, so if you pay attention to what you are running, you can use smaller gauge wire, and make it easier to install, (it is a bit bigger than most) but what comes to mind for me is that it can be used outside of the van as well in an emergency. Buy a few deep cycle batts, and you can run your fridge or deep freezer if the power goes out, or you can be one of the few on the block who can watch DVDs and have a few lights when the power company lets everyone down. Even if you don't have batteries, you can start the van or another car, and at least keep your food cold, or watch a little TV. Maybe not worth it for the full price, but when its that good a deal, it pays to think about applications that extend beyond the vanagon. IMO, John |
