I am in the proccess of converting to OEM VW alloy wheels. Along with a large parts order from BD, I purchased one lug bolt and one (after market) lug nut for the alloy wheels, just to check them out. The lug nut had a nice chrome finnish but the bolt had an ugly matte finnish and was shorter in length i.e. gross mismatch. Is there any problem with using these studs to convert the front hubs to accept lug nuts all around? The stock studs on our '85 were 40 mm long. about 1.5") When I installed Audi 15" rims on our van I bought a set of longer studs from Ben T. I think the new studs were 1/2" longer. (I used 1/2" spacers on all four wheels) These wheels have been on the van for three years with no problems. George '85 Westfalia
