Subject: Re: Brake Problem maybe "NOT" resolved?

Tim,

A follow up on the master cylinder. A quick indication of a problem is;

1) A leak where the brake peddle push rod goes into the back of the cylinder.

2) If you get the brakes "pumped up" and lightly hold your foot on the peddle, (such as sitting at a red light) and it slowly sinks down.

This means the master cylinder is "by-passing" fluid past the seals inside, or has a external leak somewhere in the system at ????. By-passing will fool some "Brand X" mechanics into thinking nothing is wrong with the master cylinder. But when it does that its toast.
