Hi Shawn,

I have the Mastercraft "digital" 400W inverter, and have used it for 2 seasons. It only supports a 160W continuous load; just barely enough for a 13" Walmart TV and an Xbox. Even a 10W light-bulb over that will overload it.

Last week I bought the Xantrex 1000W inverter... The specs say it will support a sustained 1000W load, and 1200W is possible for up to 5 minutes. I don't plan to ever pull 1000W, but it will be nice to have a wee bit of overhead available if I need to recharge my laptop while we're on the road.

The thing is also a LOT bigger than my 400W inverter... It's about 12" x 6" x 3" and weighs in at about 5 lbs.

Happy trails,
