Hi Chris,

I can see you've never cut sign vinyl. It's pretty near impossible to cut letters that small. The rule of thumb for the professionals is to never cut text smaller than an inch tall. It's just too much of a PITA to "weed" the unwanted vinyl away from the backing. The technology just isn't suited to materials that small... the drag from the knife blade tends to pull the sticker off the backing when the lettering gets less than one-eighth inch thick. And then you get the same problem all over again trying to get the transfer tape to release....

The "Putter 'n Knit" lettering on the nose of my Parents Vanagon took my three tries to get right. I'm no professional by any means, but it was pushing my luck with the combination of typeface and size that they chose.
