What does it taste like? OK, so you're not dumb enough to put automotive fluids in our mouth, like me and my crazy uncle. The next best way is to wipe some up with a white paper towel and find out what color it is. Up there in front, I think you only have three possibilities: 1) coolant, 2) brake/clutch fluid, and 3) power steering fluid. 3) is usually red, as VW specs ATF for the power steering system, 2) is clear or ever so slightly yellow, and 1) is of course whatever color you see in the overflow tank in back. -- John Bange '90 Vanagon - "Geldsauger" |
