I am not prepared to debate the pricing as it applies to supply vs demand portion of this topic, I do however concur(based on personal experiences) that more passenger side mirrors get broken. My mother alone has accounted for at least three in the last 18 years. The primary cause both in my mothers case and that of my customers is backing out of the garage, they misjudge the clearance and break the mirror on the door opening.
