Several years ago Bill Kaspar (sp?) did a group purchase of South African parts. Among those parts was a gas tank designed to fit in the space below the sliding door, with the filler in the stock 2WD location (it is intended for syncros that have the filler in the rear), and an expansion tank in the drivers side wheel well. I've had mine at least four years and it has never made it high enough on the "to do" list to get installed.
