If you have a nice vanagon and dont absolutely know beyond the shadow of a doubt that your fuel lines are 100% about the only things you can do as a precaution are: 1. carry a really good fire extinguisher. 2. Get a sheet metal plate for the rear engine hatch area to cover the fiberglass engine cover. 3. use a metal engine cover from an older vanagon. 4. find a nomex blanket to use over the rear engine cover.
