4 bikes shouldn't weight more than 120-130 lbs and that is assuming heavier entry level bicycles.

Moderately priced road bikes weigh less than 23-5 lbs, so 4 of those might well come in under 100 lbs

The way some racks stick out works as a lever to increase the force on the reciever somewhat, but this still is a relatively small amount of weight, or so it seems to me. And many racks would have one or more nylon straps to connect to the upper lip of the hatch or trunk which would support some of the bike weight.
