This month marks my ten year anniversary on the Vanagon list.  Wow, has it
really been that long?

I owe more to the Vanagon List than most. You might say that it changed my
life. After all, if not for the list, I might never have started the Bus
Depot. It was here, nearly a decade ago, that I announced to the my fellow
list members (all 150 of them :-) my decision to quit my "real job" and
persue a pipe dream of turning my Bus/Vanagon hobby into my livelihood.
Giving up a regular pay check in exchange for a website, a coat closet full
of parts, and a piano bench that doubled as a packing table was a very scary
decision.  I don't know if I'd have taken the plunge were it not for the
encouragement of so many of those early listmembers (some of whom are still
here). And it was certainly that support that helped the business grow and
succeed. (Hence the Vanagon List discount, which continues to this day.)
