The key to keep from stripping the spline's from your tool is to make sure the socket in the bolt head is clean! Also have the tool straight. I use a pocket screw driver to clean out the head, then I take a hammer and tap the tool in until it bottoms in the bolt. This and keeping it straight will make them last. I use a 3/8 drive pistol grip impact wrench. If I can't get to the car with air, and have to do it by hand. I make sure the car is in neutral and hold the ratchet and turn the tire. I seem to get better leverage that way. Again keeping it straight.
