We'll, I won't both writing all the details here, but suffice to say we made the run up to Vermont and back with no complications, besides the started not working several times. Shoulda known that it would give trouble...

Day temps were not bad, but I finally realized why people like their rear heaters. I think I might keep it. Night temps were down in the low 20's but our 15 degree bags, coupled with a blanket and 'tenting' under the rear cabinet kept us very warm. The Mr. Buddy portable propane heater worked VERY well for heating up the interior before bed and in the morning (windows cracked, of course).

Van ran great and enjoyed a light run up and a gently run back down with trailer in tow. A big thank-you to Gary Lee for the unbelieveably good bumper / hitch. Only a couple bus sightings the whole way: a 70's bus on a used car lot in Jersey, a Rialta at a service area on the Y though way, and a dead (or just rusting) Vanagon westy somewhere in Md. And with the solid layer of salt from NY north I can understand why.

Overly long details can be found at: http://jrunberg.livejournal.com/

john
