On an 86 Wolfsburg camper (Weekender if you will), which battery is the main and which is the auxiliary? The Owner’s manual states the driver’s side one is the starting battery. The Bentley claims the passenger side one is the starting battery. The previous owner crossed out the text in the owner’s manual and wrote that the passenger side one is the main battery. He also wrote “main” on the right battery box and “auxiliary” on the left one. The 12v outlet on the side of the passenger seat seems to be clearly wired to the right side battery. I don’t want to assume everything is OK and leave the refrigerator running all day and not be able to start the van. Also, from the factory, are there any other things, such as the cabin light, wired to the aux battery? Also, on a side note, what's a good brand of antifreeze? Is it best to stick with VW brand? |
