Also applies to other applications, front wheel drive, etc. I think it best to not clamp the boot to the axle (the smaller clamp) until you install, and rotate the wheels a bunch. I leave the clamp off and take it for a drive, then I roll under and clamp it in the position it settles into, rather than trying to guess where it wants to be. The motivation doesn't come from the Van, but from the other vehicles where I have guessed wrong, and pulled whole boot off the other end, and had to do it all over again. The van boot being bolted on at the end, means that if you are too far in or out when you clamp it, I suspect it might tend to rip and fail prematurely. Just one opinion, and nothing more.
