Hi Jim, I have done exactly that with both of my buses. You can drive on the rims, no problem. But they won't climb even the gentlest of obstacles at low speeds. There's a 3/4" lip leading to the concrete pad in my garage and the bare steel rear wheels just couldn't get enough traction to get over the bump. It might have worked if I'd taken a run at it but there wasn't enough driveway to make that happen. I tried putting down some plywood for extra traction but the rims spun anyway and made lots of smoke. We eventually wound up pushing it in with my brother's pontiac. Anyone here remember the 1980's Audi Quattro commercial with the car going up a scenic mountain road without tires? Amazing. When you lower a bus that far you have the bare minimum of ground clearance. I even had trouble getting my hydraulic jack out from under the bus!
