OK folks, snicker and giggle all you want, but Vaseline is what I've used with nary a problem. If yer really kinky (and it is Friday of course), you could prolly use KY <grin>. A little white grease would prolly be OK as well.

In otherwords, use some slight lubrication on the shaft and the boot hole along with a very dull butter knife for leverage.
