Robert et al. I see the guy with the lights--and those are some lights--has them routed through an extra defrost switch. FWIW: BusDepot.com sells the VW fog light switch for the swink blank int he dash board for about $30 from what I see on the website. part # ZVW123251 The rocker switch has three setting and if wired as according to specs its postions are one: off two: front fog lights on three: front fog lights and rear fog light on It can of course be used to turn on and off driving lights as opposed to fog lights if you choose--(or I suppose even a 12 volt coffee maker if you wire it as such. You decide). And for those who don't know, I believe the rear fog light is one extra bright tail light bulb fitted into the original tail light configuration to help keep you from getting rear ended in the fog. All this to the best of my knowledge. This is how the fog light swith I purchased years ago operates. I'm assuming the swith the BusDepot is selling is the same one. Please check before you purchase on my word. But it does exactly match the other dash switches in my 83 Vanagon. (did the appearance of the dash switches change somewhat or slightly for later model Vanagons--I forget?) I'm not affiliated with the BusDepot or VW. VW is a trademark of...
