Very nice and systematic mechanical work(for a vanagon). I also have a hammer in my tool box. If your injector is ok, but plugged up, it can be cleaned. Once removed, Put about 1 tbl spoon of concentrated injector cleaner in the little 2 inch hose that is attached. Next carve an old rubber tire valve down till it can be stuffed into the hose. Clamp it. Now put an electrical connector(junkyard) on the electrical hookups on the injector. Hook up a 12V battery. Lastly, hook up a bicycle tire pump and force the cleanter through the injector. You can probably visualize this set up,and that a water hose needs to be nearby( I had no fires with 8 injectors). Takes about 2 refills to make sure the injector is clean. A nice cloud of cleaner will form when pumped,to tell you the job is done.New injector $50,used,$8.
