The outside will have a line on it. The line faces the flange it is being bolted to.

Hopefully this is my last question: The lobro cv joints have two sides: on one side, the inner race is totally flat. On the other, the inner race has an inner circle that sticks out past the rest. Which side should face away from the axle?
