In the west it's availability is mostly a coastal
phenomenon--from Santa Barbara to N California,
Portland and then Seattle. These are progressive areas
generally speaking. In fact I understand modern
diesels--ie Tdi's and CRD's--aren't even sold in
California, yet biodiesel is more available there than
anywhere else in the west.

My point was that even the conservative areas-like
Utah--are realizing the benefits of biodiesel, but
it's availability was clearly a progressive movement
in the beginning. When the red states embrace
alternative fuels, instead of seeing them as a
personal virtue--to quote the Vice President--then
they may have a real future. This may be happening
which is good news to me.
