Check the Brake fluid, P/S fluid and coolant reservoirs, are any of them low? All have nice loooong lines running from the front of the van to the rear.

If you have a manual tranny, you can dump dump brake fluid from a rusted-out brake line *or* the clutch line.

If you have an automatic tranny, it might be transmission fluid... again, you'll need to check the power steering reservoir (if equipped) because both the P/S and the auto trans use automatic tranmission fluid.
