Before buying my first separator a couple years ago I called
Surepower and spoke to a customer service engineer.


He said for VW Campers the Separator is an excellent solution and
easier to install because the way VW alternators work (internal
regulator).


Surepower sells both isolators and separators.   In fact, Surepower
invented the isolator yet THEY suggested the separator for my VW.
I'm sure they know what they are doing.
