Tom, It lengthens the shifter UNDER the fulcrum point, so the net result is a shorter "throw" at the knob in your hand. Changes nothing from the bottom of the Berg add-on rearward.

I think it does shorten the 2 to 3 throw, but not as noticeably as the 1 to 2 and 3 to 4. Which makes sense, since those two are linear and the 2 to 3 is both linear and lateral. I notice that R to Granny in my van is also a shorter throw.
