My outside driver's side door handle is broken. I need to replace it and I am looking for advice on how to change the lock so I can use the same key. Pius

EZ. There's a screw or bolt on the door edge where it hits the door jam. Open the door, remove the screw, remove the handle. Take the key and handle to a locksmith and he'll set the lock in the door to the key for about $15.

Or, if you have the old lock cylinder from the broken handle--and that lock cylinder is still good and works with the key--I believe there is a tiny allan screw or maybe a regular flat head screw (but tiny) on the side of the lock cylinder housing. Now, Ok, you've got me. I can't remember if you can just take out the lock cylinder or of you need the key on the lock.

I think you may need to put the key in the lock and maybe turn it and pull the cylinder out by pulling on the key. (or like I said it might just come out withou the key. Be careful not to let any of the springs or key feelers fall out of place and swap one out for the other.

If my memory serves me well that's how it goes down. Anyone else wanna chime in, it's been a while since I did it.

Best, Jeff 83.5 Westy LA,CA
