There are three auto tranny series on the Vanagon

Series NG = Air Cooled Vanagon thru 83.5. Doesn't have provisions for the cooler, so not recommended for the Wasserboxer.

Series NH = Wasserboxer 1.9 83.5-85

Series NK = Wasserboxer 2.1 86-91. Even though VW doesn't say, I believe the NK in it's complete form can be swapped for the NH, but I could be wrong. -- Jim Thompson 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com ********************************** On 3/8/06, Diane Bieber <vww85@yahoo.ca> wrote: > > is there any diferences between the various years of vanagons. can a > tranny from a different year be installed and function well. > thank you > randy >
