The fiver turbodiesel from the early Audi 5000 is my current frontrunner for engine transplant, just ahead of the 1.9/tdi engine. I like the relative installation ease of mechanical injection, and I suspect some tweaks to the pump and an intercooler could bump hp up to the 115-120 range, which would push my van around quite nicely. Unfortunately, they're very rare here in Merka.
