well, gowesty now lists the prices they bought the original rigs for. you see a westy coming in for 5500$ they mark it up by 20% and then repair it until it costs 28000$. i am sure that makes vanagons interesting to a group of people that would otherwise not drive such an old vehicle, but i prefer to have 20k$ in my pocket for a little less reliability. but maybe this will change if i ever earn a lot of money, who knows? i respect gowestys work, what annoys me is that so many vanagons ads nowadays say "what a bargain at 18k$, look at gowesty they sell the same rig for 28k$" yeaah except gowesty put 20k$ in repairs in...... flo |
