Subject: Re: Sound insulation info and tips

Hello again. For the rear hatch,I got an underhood sound and heat liner from an old Buick. It was low mileage and very clean($5). I folded it in half and wedged it in place. It fit perfect and only needed 1 or 2 cuts to fit the lock/wiper area. The rear hatch now slams with authority. Little additional weight from this pad.I hear that regular sound proofing may cause the hatch to sag.The hatch sounds as good as my front and sliding door ,which have lots of expensive sound material inside. It also seems to have a "feeling" of being "stuffed" with something , as opposed to being hollow.A good feeling,it is.I would do it again.
