Robert: How do you remove the broken [dipstick tube] still in the case. There's about 1/4 inch above the case.

Dennis: Twist it up and out with a properly sized e-z out.

That's a great idea, but to prevent the old tube stub from collapsing/breaking when you start twisting on it, you may want to insert something inside it. Maybe a short length of hardwood dowel or a properly sized bolt with the head cut off.
